Doris Nogosek, 102, Jamestown, ND passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at SMP Health-Ave Maria, Jamestown, ND.

Doris Hopwood was born on November 3, 1923 to Erbie and Bertina (Thu) Hopwood. She attended Corrine Country School and graduated from Courtenay High School. Growing up, she worked on the family farm along with the rest of the family.

Doris married Edward Nogosek on June 1, 1944 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Wimbledon, ND. They settled on a farm south of Courtenay, ND where they farmed until retiring in 1972 and moved into Wimbledon. They moved to Jamestown in 1992 and were members of the Basilica of St. James, Jamestown.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Roger Nogosek; grandson, Jason Nogosek; sister, Helen Wang; brothers, Byron Hopwood, Robert Hopwood, and Erbie Hopwood; brothers-in-law, Doug Barker, and Lawrence Wang; sisters-in-law, Lois Hopwood and Bernice Hopwood.

Doris is survived by her son, Tom Nogosek, Jamestown, ND; daughter-in-law, Patty Nogosek, Jamestown; five grandchildren, Stephanie Nogosek (Brad), Nicole Kozitza (Ryan), Ryan Nogosek (Jen), Troy Nogosek (April), Lance Nogosek; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Barker, Roger, MN; sister-in-law, Donna Hopwood, Peoria, AZ.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 12 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown, ND with Very Reverend C.F. Wilhelm, presiding.

Eddy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
