Doris Engel, 94, of Jamestown, ND, passed away, Monday evening, March 16th 2020 in Jamestown.
Doris Engel was born December 19th 1925 in Jamestown the only living daughter of Ed and Julia (Bredvold) Eichhorn. She was educated in Jamestown graduating in 1944. Doris worked for Melland’s Implement for 25years as the Office Manager. After retiring from Mellands she worked for Don Wilhelm’s. Doris Eichhorn married Ellis (Slim) Engel on September 22, 1973 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown. They were married 47 years.
Doris was a great historian and had a very sharp memory and the ability to tell great stories. Everyone who knew her enjoyed her stories and sense of humor. Doris loved having a large garden, canning, quilting and reading. She was an avid animal lover particularly cats.
Doris was the last living member of her family. She was preceded in death by her Husband, parents, an infant sister and many aunts and uncles.
Doris is greatly missed by her adopted family Kami, Jeff, Jocelyn and Lyndon Olson as well as many friends.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday July 24th at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
