Donna Johnson

Donna Johnson, 82, of Woodworth, ND died Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at her home in Jamestown surrounded by family.

Donna was born the daughter of Henry and Alice (Tate) Buskeness on October 2, 1934. She attended a country school north of Woodworth. Donna married Stanley James Johnson on December 26, 1950 in Beach, ND. They made their home near Woodworth with their three children. Donna worked alongside her husband on the family farm where they milked cows, farmed and raised cattle, sheep, and horses. There was not a piece of farm equipment that Donna could not operate.

Donna enjoyed ceramics, woodworking, gardening, spending time at the lake, singing hymns, playing Skip-Bo with her grandchildren, polka music, canning pickles (which she supplied by the gallons to all of her children and grandchildren), and baking. Donna ran the Jamestown Livestock Barn Café for many years; people came from all around to have her roast beef dinner. She is known for her Thanksgiving pies. For many years she was in charge of the Vacation Bible School crafts, where the children always loved what they made. At 6:30 each evening, she could be found watching ‘Wheel of Fortune’ with Fred. Spending time with her family was what she enjoyed most in life.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Lois (Roger) Nenow of Jamestown, son, Loren (Margie) Johnson of Jamestown, grandchildren; Allison (Chad) Mack and their children; Torrie, Nikolana, and Hadley of Jamestown, Kristal (Justin) Uehran and their children; Kysen and Maelee of Jamestown, Lacey Nenow of Fargo, Natasha Nenow of Fargo, Stanley (Shantel) Johnson of Medina and their children; Nathan and Bradley, Loren Johnson, Jr. of Woodworth, Trisha (Cameron Schulz) Johnson of Woodworth, brother, Gordon Buskeness, Medina, ND sister, Joyce Hartley, Butte, MT and her special friend for many many years, Fred Jawaski, Jamestown, ND, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Larry Lee Johnson; and great grandson, James Joseph Uehran.

Funeral Service : 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2017 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Woodworth, ND with Pastor James Venegas, officiating.

Interment: New Home Seventh-day Adventist Cemetery, rural Woodworth, ND.
