Diane J Fischer

Diane J. Fischer, 83, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Wednesday morning, May 6, 2026 at Edgewood, Jamestown.

Diane was born March 1, 1943, in Jamestown, the daughter of Joe and Esther (Backer) Hockert. She attended school at Glenfield-Sutton, graduating in 1962. She moved to Jamestown and worked at Ebertz Café, where she met Elmer Krein. They were married on February 14, 1964 in Jamestown and made a home there. Diane raised her two daughters and enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, dancing, and shopping for clothes & trinkets. Diane later married Donald Fischer in 1985.

She is survived by her two daughters, Lynette (Tom) Krein and Holly Krein; 4 grandchildren, Brittney (Alex), Tyler, Aaron, and Meghan; great-granddaughter, Livie; two sisters, Lynne Glodrey and Deb (Noel) Guthmiller; and nieces and nephews.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, husbands; brother, Darrell (Margaret) Hockert; and brother-in-law, Ron Glodrey.

Funeral Service – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 21, 2026 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown.

Burial – Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown. A reception will follow in the Parish Center at the church.
