Denis James Reilly, 70, of Jamestown, North Dakota passed away March 5, 2020 after his battle with cancer during a short stay at Eventide Nursing Home while surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Queens, New York on April 7, 1949 to Cornelius and Jeanette (Davies) Reilly. He graduated from Franklin Lane High School and enlisted in the United States Army on November 13, 1969, serving in Germany until his honorable discharge on July 20, 1972. Throughout his life he prided himself on performing janitorial and handyman services. Denis had a passion for his Lord Jesus which was acquired at a young adult age. Activities in the church involved Men’s Ministry, lead Sunday school on occasion, provided hospitality, greeting, and continuously prayed for others. He volunteered at food banks and community outreach pursuits and was also a member of the American Legion and American Israel Public Affairs Committee.
Denis had a unique relationship with his children and treasured his five grandsons. He is survived by three siblings, a brother, Neil (Doris) Reilly of NY, and two sisters, Betty Reilly Seitz of NY and Jeannette (Norman) Goldstein of NY, and ex -spouse Delores Mirabella Reilly and children Marie Cirella, Paul (Melissa) Reilly of CA, Jordan (Jeremy) Simpson of ND, grandchildren; Joseph Cirella, Bryan Reilly, Nicholas, Reilly, James Davin and Justice Simpson.
Preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius and Jeannette (Davies) Reilly, sisters: Sylvia Fischer and Cecelia Sci: his wife; Rebecca Kearns Reilly, and son; Kenneth Cirella (mother, Delores Mirabella Reilly).
A memorial service has been postponed until a later date.
