David John Wanzek

David J. Wanzek, 72, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015 at his home.

David John Wanzek was born August 28, 1943, at Trinity Hospital, Jamestown, the son of Paul and Veronica (Prodzinski) Wanzek. He grew up on the family farm near Windsor and attended St. John’s Academy in Jamestown. David farmed with his brother, Eugene, until 1986, and then worked other various jobs in the area. He married Elizabeth Hutton. He joined the National Guard and was discharged March 6, 1981 at a Sergeant. David enjoyed hunting, canning foods, and especially loved farming. Later, David married Connie Dinga.

David is survived by his children, Erin (George Schwartz) Wanzek and her daughter, Reese Wanzek-Schwartz, Shane (Jess) Wanzek, Tamme (James) Fiechtner and their children, Parker & Kennedy, and Trace (Gianna Hughes) Parker; sister, Theresa (Bob) Solinger; sister, Cecelia (Harvey) Newton; sister, Louise Wanzek; brother, Eugene (Beth) Wanzek; sister, Cathy (Gary) Carlson; sister, Judith Baenen; brother, Anthony Wanzek; sister, Connie (Karl) Charipar; sister, Jenny (Keith) Berge; sister-in-law, Delores Wanzek; brother-in-law, Eugene Cysewski.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Liz; brothers, Leonard, Kenneth, and Raphael Wanzek; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce (Jerry) Gutensohn, Delores (Donald) Norris, and Joan Cysewski; brother-in-law, Kenneth Baenen; and sisters-in-law, Adeline Wanzek and Sandy Wanzek.

Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 3, 2015 at St. Mathias Catholic Church, Windsor, ND, with Father Sean Mulligan officiating.

Visitation : None scheduled.

Interment: St. Pauline’s Cemetery, Windsor, ND.
