David Soupir

David Patrick Soupir, 67, Courtenay, ND, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND.

David was born on February 4, 1946 in Vesta, MN, the son of Frank and Celestine (Hornick) Soupir. He moved to a farm south of Courtenay in 1950. He received his education in Courtenay, graduating in 1964. He attained a Certificate of Meat Packing at the Northern School of Meat Packing School, Chicago, IL. He continued farming with his father and in 1968 he married Elaine Paczkowski at St. John's Catholic Church in Kensal, ND. In 1970, the farming partnership of Soupir Brothers was formed, with his brother, Darold. Dave retired in 2012.

He was a member and trustee of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Courtenay; St. Mary's Cemetery Board, Assessor for the Courtenay Township for 40 years, lifetime member of the Courtenay Rural Fire District , Courtenay Farmers Elevator Board, and the Courtenay Wind Farm LLC Board.

David is survived by his wife, Elaine, Courtenay; son, Chad (Shelly) Soupir, Omaha, NE, granddaughters, Samantha, Mankato, MN, Maren and Madelyn, Omaha; son, Jerrid (Tami) Soupir, Glen Ullin, ND, two grandsons, Skylar and Garret and granddaughter, Courtnee; son, Tony (Melanie) Soupir, Bismarck, ND, grandsons, Tayden and Rylen; one brother, Darold (Claudia) Soupir, Courtenay; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
