David P. Sommerdorf

David Paul Sommerdorf, 59, Jamestown, ND died Monday, May 26, 2014 at Eventide at Hi-Acres, Jamestown.

David was born June 26, 1954 in Rugby, ND, the son of Carl and Emily (Boileau) Sommerdorf. He lived in the Minot, ND area, moved to Jamestown in 1966 and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1972. He enlisted in the US Air Force on October 31, 1972 and served until March 1985. He began his employment at the North Dakota State Hospital in December 1987 and worked there until he had to retire due to health reasons.

David was an avid reader and enjoyed going to the movies, and doing crossword puzzles. He was known for his sense of humor and was an eternal optimist.

David is survived by two brothers, Donald (Rae Ann) Sommerdorf, Jamestown and Daryl (Holly) Sommerdorf, Cleveland, ND and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
