Clem Hager

November 13, 1957 — November 18, 2025

Jamestown

Clemans Jack Hager Jr., 68, of Jamestown, North Dakota, passed away on November 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 13, 1957, in Rugby, North Dakota, to Clemans Jack Hager Sr. and Bessie Caroline Hager. Clem was the youngest of six children and the only son, blessed and frequently loved on, by his five older sisters.

Clem grew up in Towner, North Dakota, where he graduated from Towner High School in 1976. During his school years, he was active in athletics, proudly playing football and basketball for the Towner Cardinals. The most meaningful moment of his youth came in band class, where he met the love of his life, Mitzi, sparking a connection that never faded. Clem attended North Dakota State University while Mitzi attended the University of North Dakota, and they continued to date throughout college. They were married on August 8, 1980, and shared 45 wonderful years together.

Clem and Mitzi built their life and raised their family in Jamestown, where they lived for 40 years. Together, they welcomed four children: Clemans Jack III, Christopher Ryan, Rachel Emily, and Rebecca Anne. Clem’s pride, joy, and purpose came from being a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and soon-to-be great-grandfather.

Clem loved working outside and took great pride in caring for his yard. On many evenings and weekends, he could be found supporting his children and grandchildren at their activities. He was never the loudest person in the stands, but he was always a faithful and steady supporter, cheering on his children and grandchildren with quiet devotion and unwavering presence.

Clem’s legacy lives on through his beloved family: his wife, Mitzi; his children, CJ Hager III (Wendy), Chris Hager (Lauryn), Rachel Kastet (Austin), and Becca Spenningsby (Nic); his grandchildren, Dillon (Kyra), Sadie, Charlotte, Emery, Brooks, Jack, Nole, Quinn, Finley, and Will; and his soon-to-arrive great-grandson, Henry, expected January 1, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jocelyn, his mother and father-in-law Robert and Mary Muhs, his brothers-in-law Virgil Haman and Larry Armer.

Family and friends are welcome to gather beginning at 1:00 p.m. for the Visitation, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24th, at Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, North Dakota, as we come together to remember and honor Clem. A reception to follow, beginning at 4 p.m. at Drift Prairie Brewing Company.

Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Roger Maris Cancer Center, JRMC Cancer Center, the Jamestown Cancer Support Group, or JRMC Hospice.

Clem will be remembered for his gentle spirit, quiet yet strong faith, and his lifelong devotion to his family. His steady presence, warm support, and deep love will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
