Caroline Herman, 96 years, 9 months, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Eventide at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center, Jamestown.
Caroline Walz was born November 25, 1913 at Pettibone, North Dakota , the daughter of Christian and Christina (Morlock) Walz. She was baptized on March 22, 1914 at Petersville Lutheran Church, Petersville, ND. She attended school at Petersville Township School near Pettibone. On June 28, 1934, Caroline married Albert Herman. They farmed at Pettibone until 1973 when they retired and moved to Jamestown. After Albert died on September 14, 1983, she continued to live in her home until she moved to the James House. Three years ago she became a resident of Eventide at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center.
Caroline was involved in several activities at Concordia Lutheran Church, including Morning Bible Study, Martha Circle, Quilting for World Relief and LWML.
She will be greatly missed by all of her family as she was like an encyclopedia, she never forgot a family time or date.
Caroline is survived by three children, Vernon (Cathy) Herman, Jamestown, Diana Hanson (Jerry Graff), Sacramento, CA and Gerald (Phyllis) Herman, Bismarck, ND; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and two brothers, Rudolph Walz, East Grand Forks, MN and Rupert Walz, Sebewaing, MI.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; son, Duane; parents; three brothers and two sisters.
