Carol J. Hilgemann, 73, of Jamestown passed away on December 5th, 2019 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, ND.
Carol was born on June 1, 1946 in Mobridge, SD, the daughter of Emanuel and Mary (Kranzler) Lorenz. She grew up and attended school in Aberdeen, SD, graduating from Aberdeen in 1964. On August 27,1966, she was united in marriage to Ralph Hilgemann. They made their home in Jamestown, ND raising their sons Richard and Scott.
Carol held various jobs in the Jamestown community including jobs at White Drug Cafe, Taco John's, Wal-Mart and St. John's Academy prior to retiring.
Carol was active in the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary. She held all offices including President of the Jamestown aerie from 2000-2001. She was elected State President in 2004-2005; Regional President in 2006-2007. Carol also received the local "Mrs. Eagles" award several times along with the State Woman of the Year. She was inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame in 2012. She also volunteered at the 20 Below Club and Heritage Center.
Carol is survived by her husband Ralph, her children: Richard (Kathy), Jamestown, ND, Scott (Rikki) Hutchinson, MN; grandchildren Rebekah and Jacob, Jamestown, ND, Mary, Jerome and Jennifer, Hutchinson, MN; sisters Joyce (Bob) Mentzer, Aberdeen, SD and Irene (Cy) Kaiser Aberdeen, SD.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father Carl Bohling; brothers Richard, Emil and Howard Lorenz; sisters Martha Schmierer, Bernice Walther, Erma Lorenz and Viola Lorenz.
Visitation Friday, December 13, 2019 from 3 to 7 with a prayer service at 7pm at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown. Funeral service will be Saturday, December 14, 2019 11am at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Home on the Range, 16351 I-94 Sentinel Butte, ND 58654 or Hospice of Jamestown, ND.
