Betty Ruff

Betty Ruff, 92 peacefully entered the presence of the Lord on September 11, 2025 at her most recent residence SMP Health Ave Maria Jamestown, ND. Betty was born along with her twin on

June 14, 1933 to Adam and Rosina (Lehr) Hauck of rural Wishek, ND. She grew up and attended rural school and Wishek High School. As a teenager she enjoyed riding horse on the prairie.

In July 26, 1953 she married Clifford Ruff in Burnstad, ND. In 1954 they bought a farmstead seven miles north of Edgeley, ND, where they raised four children. Betty was very much a farm wife helping with harvest, livestock, garden and her chickens. Her goal in life was to be a good mother and grandmother. She loved to give people a hard time and loved her card games, especially pinochle. Betty was a member of the Methodist Church in Edgeley, North Dakota for the better part of her adult life.

Betty is survived by three of her children, Myron (LeRae) Ruff of Edgeley, Clayton (Kelli) Ruff of Underwood, ND Versella (Pat) Nelson of Oakes, ND.Seven grandchildren Leslie, Adam, Ann, Jacob, Dylan, Tristan and Dalton and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Sisters-in-law, Sharyn and Janet.

She was preceded in death by her parents Adam and Rose Hauck, son Robert, and siblings Peter, Adelia, Helen, Arlene, Donald and Norman.

Funeral Service – 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley, with Becca Hafner officiating.

Private Family Burial – St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek, ND.
