Betty Lou Pfaff

Betty Lou Pfaff, 86, originally of Tappen, ND died Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the Baptist Home in Bismarck, ND. Betty was born on September 21, 1932 at Medina, ND, the daughter of Richard and Bertha (Stolz) Andres. She attended school in Medina and the family moved to Buchanan and she attended Pingree School. She taught for a while, worked in a café/gas station and at Woolworth's in Jamestown.

She married Elmer Pfaff on January 25, 1952 at the Evangelical United Brethren Church Parsonage in Tappen. After he was honorably discharged in September of 1954, they moved onto their farm. They moved into a new house on that farm in the fall of 1977, and milked a few cows and did small grains. They purchased the station from Al Schatz and operated Pfaff's Standard in Tappen in 1973 for two years.

Betty enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, cooking, baking, ceramics, sewing and other crafts, and playing bingo. She was a member of United Methodist Church, now Zion United Methodist Church of Tappen and the United Methodist Women. Elmer passed away on February 18, 2016. Betty then resided at the Golden Manor in Steele​ until January, 2019 when she moved to The Baptist Home in Bismarck. She resided there until her death.

Betty is survived by sons, Mark Pfaff, Tappen, Michael (Darla) Pfaff, Tappen, Jeffrey (Corrina) Pfaff, Bismarck, Randall (Laurie) Pfaff, Rocklin, CA; brother James Andres, Jamestown; sisters-in-law, Bertha Roemmich, Jamestown and Marcy Pfaff, Wishek; brother-in-law, Jim Schumacher, Jamestown; grandchildren, Scott (Candice) Pfaff, Staci (Clare Heinze) Pfaff, Alyssa (Mark) McLaughlin, Matthew (Shay Bunnell) Pfaff, MiKayla Pfaff, Arielle (Jeff) Cromer, Adrianna and Ashley Pfaff; 9 great grandchildren, Thomas and Kader Bauer, Brock Pfaff, Peyton McLaughlin, Caleb, Isabella and Carter Pfaff, Julian Cromer, and Cash Bunnell; 2 great grandchildren on the way; nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer; siblings, Sylvia (Wilbert) Hoffmann, Doris (Cal) Spitzer, Jean (Ken) Gerber, an infant sister, Joan; William (Denise) Andres; in-laws Jacob (Lydia), David, John (Elvina), Art (Delores), Simon (Hertha), Mary (Harold) Weixel, Esther Schumacher, Emil Roemmich, Katie and Benjamin.

The family wants to thank the Golden Manor of Steele and the Baptist Home of Bismarck for their wonderful care of their mom/grandma/great grandma/sister.

Funeral Service : 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2019 at Zion United Methodist Church, Tappen, with Pastor Brenda Goodman officiating.

Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Interment: Fisher Cemetery, Tappen.

Funeral Service : 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2019 at Zion United Methodist Church, Tappen, with Pastor Brenda Goodman officiating.
