Betty Marton (Harr) Gorman

Elizabeth “Betty” (Marton) Gorman, 83, passed away December 21, 2024 at Prince of Peace Care Center in Ellendale, ND.

Betty was born on March 17, 1941 to Henry and Lydia (Schmeirer) Harr in Cleveland, ND.  She attended Cleveland Public School.  She married Marlin Miess in 1961 and to this union seven children were born: Lori (Brent) Tangen, Michelle (Bryon) Staehr, Holly, Michael, Jeffrey, Jodi Niess, and LaMonte.  She later married Roger Zillmer and to this union one son, Shane, was born.  She married Jack Gorman in 2015.

Betty worked at Lil’s Restaurant for many years until her retirement.

She is survived by her husband, Jack; her children; one brother, Ronald (Judy) Harr; sisters-in-law, Cora Harr and Laverne Harr; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her children, Holly Niess, Michael Niess, and Jodi Niess; parents Henry and Lydia Harr; sister, Dorothy (brother-in-law, Harold) Mittleider; and brothers, Dale Harr and Roger Harr.

Memorial Service – 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Eddy Funeral Home, with Father Bob Hoekstra officiating.
