Arlene Johnson, 77, of Jamestown, ND passed away early Saturday morning, September 6, 2025 at her home.
Arlene Zimmerman was born December 30, 1947, in Napoleon, North Dakota, the daughter of Jake and Ida (Becker) Zimmerman. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1966, and then attended NDSCS Nursing Program in Wahpeton, ND, achieving an LPN degree.
She was employed as an LPN at St. Luke’s Hospital, Aberdeen, SD for 4 years and then relocated to Jamestown to be employed at Jamestown Hospital for 41 years – giving 45 years of medical service. Arlene enjoyed being an LPN and loved helping people. Patients and their families that Arlene assisted over the years at the Jamestown Hospital still, years after she retired, remember her and are grateful for the loving and compassionate care she provided for them.
Over the years, Arlene adopted many cats from the Humane Society, giving them the love and attention they needed. She was especially fond of her miniature dachshund, Oscar who brought her joy. Arlene enjoyed animals, music, traveling and spending time with her family and many friends. She has a youthful soul and loved to experience all things in life.
Our mother, Arlene leaves behind for us all wonderful memories of her laughter, love and her fun, loving personality. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered in all our hearts.
Arlene’s most prized accomplishments in life was her family. She was united in married to Robert W. Johnson on August 10, 1968 in Jamestown and together they had two beautiful daughters, Shannan (Johnson) Stinar of Jamestown and Stephanie (Johnson) (Brian) Zimprich of Lisbon, ND. Arlene was blessed with four beautiful grandchildren: Paige and Jayce, Max and Madison.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Ida Zimmerman; husband, Robert Johnson; and son-in-law, Tim Stinar.
Funeral Service – 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at the United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Bob Boyar officiating.
Visitation – One hour before the service at the church.
Burial – Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, with a reception to follow.
