Ardella "Della" Chisholm

Ardella “Della” Roselette Chisholm, age 79, of Jamestown, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on June 16th, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family.

Born to Alex Bovkoon Sr. and Anna (Versolenko). Della grew up with strong family values and a generous heart. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who carried herself with strength and grace.

Della was one of eight siblings. Her deep love for family guided her every day. Della found her greatest joy in her children and grandchildren. She was a constant presence in their lives—always showing up with the best joke or gag gift. She was full of love, laughter, and always ready for a good time.

She was a woman of great faith who lived out the gospel and stood firm in her faith. In her last days, Della was never shy about telling her family she was ready to meet her Master and have her body back. She knew where she was going and she was ready to be with Jesus.

She is survived by her two children ~ Melanie Ash of Breckenridge, CO; James Ash (Kim) of Jamestown; Grandchildren ~ Ariel Duchscherer (Cody), Cody Kilgore (Brittany), Emily Ash (Fiancé Travis Buckeye), and Aiden Ash; Great Grandchildren ~ Mia, Wallen, Rhett, and Roman. She was preceded in death by her parents Alex Sr. and Anna Bovkoon and six of her siblings ~ Grayce, Oscar, Matthew, Irene, Mary Ann, and Vivian.

A celebration of Della’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 20th at the United Presbyterian Church in Jamestown followed by a pizza party. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to SMP Health Ave Maria - Jamestown.

Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing our mom and grandma lives on in the lives she touched. She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered.
