Fern L. Allrich

Fern Lucille (Orr) Allrich, 85, Jamestown, ND, died on October 14, 2012 at her home in Jamestown.

Fern was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on June 3, 1927, the daughter of Helen and Marion D. Orr, who moved to a farm near Ypsilanti, ND in 1929. There they raised 12 children, including Fern, one of the middle children. Four of Fern's brothers and sisters remain: Marjorie Davis, rural Jamestown, Vonnie (Darrell) Entzminger, Paul (Doris) Orr, East Grand Forks, MN and Clifford (Valeria) Orr, Ypsilanti, ND. Fern was the proud aunt of numerous nieces and nephews and she was very attached to her local and extended family and friends. She was an evangelical Christian and reading the Bible was a very important part of her life.

Fern is survived by her four children: Linda (Clyde) Briggs, Madison, WI, Janis Haley, Macon, GA, Scott (Donna) Nicholls, Minneapolis, MN and Jeffrey Blair, Jamestown; three grandchildren: Angela Nicholls, Maple Plain, MN, Jarryd Briggs, Portland, OR and Cameron Briggs, Madison, WI and one great-grandchild, Ty Minarik, Maple Plain, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto; parents; six brothers and sisters, Meredith (Bud) Orr, Robert Orr, Maurice Orr, Francis Orr, Floyd Orr, Virginia (Ginny) Kriel, and infant brother, Harold Orr.
