Elda Koenig

Elda Koenig, 89, Jamestown, North Dakota, formerly of Woodworth, North Dakota died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Bethany Retirement Home, Fargo, North Dakota. Elda Schultz was born January 11, 1925 in Woodworth, ND to Ernest and Bertha (Petzke) Schultz. Elda attended rural country schools near Woodworth graduating from Woodworth High School. She married William "Bill" Koenig, Jr. in 1945 in Woodworth. They owned and operated Bill's Bar in Woodworth for thirty plus years. Bill passed away September 12, 1980. After Bill's passing Elda moved to Jamestown. She worked at JC Penny for fifteen years. On October 31, 1987, she married Wilbert Geigle in Jamestown. Wilbert passed away in 2000. Elda retired from JC Penny and moved to Fargo residing in Bethany Retirement Home. She was very active in her church. Elda enjoyed quilting, music, having coffee with friends and loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Elda is survived by daughter, Marge (Stan) Hillius, Kearney, NE; son, Daryl (Karla) Koenig, Fargo, ND; step-daughters, Donna Dobson, Jamestown, Diane (Levi) Patzner, Robinson, ND, Colleen (Gary) Lossing, East Bethel, MN; daughter-in-law, Betty Geigle, Jamestown, ND; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Oswald (Rose) Schultz, Jamestown, ND and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, step-son, Ronald Geigle, two sisters, Helen and Gunda, two brothers, Leonard and Otto Schultz.

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Monday, August 4, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Pastor Suzanne Orlopp, officiating.

Visitation: one hour before the service at church on Monday.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
