Annie Jean Kollman, 90, Jamestown, ND died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown.
Annie Jean Bennett was born October 11, 1923 at the family home near Edmunds, ND, the daughter of Alden I. And Annie Y. (Thomson) Bennett. She attended rural school at Vashti, ND and high school at Carrington, ND. Following two years at Valley City State Teacher's College she taught at Bucephalia School, Foster County, ND. While teaching there she met her future husband, Harold E. Kollman. They were married at the home of Rev. N.E. McCoy in Jamestown on April 20, 1946. They farmed in the Kensal-Edmunds area until his death in 1977. She continued to live on the farm until she moved to Jamestown in 1993.
Annie enjoyed quilting, crosswords, cryptograms and Bespelled on her computer. She was a great cook and was always ready with a cup of coffee and a treat for family and friends.
Annie is survived by two daughters, Ann (Daniel) Sveen, Edinburg, ND and Patricia (Terry) Hoyt, Baker, MT; five sons, Alden (Landa), Keith and Kenneth (Susan), all of Jamestown, David (Darlene), Valley City, ND and Gordon (Karen), Ridgecrest, CA; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Laura Hall, Jamestown and one brother, Donald (Donna) Bennett, Carrington, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Neal; one brother, William; one sister, Clarella (Arvid) Dalby, and a grandson, Sean.
