Obituary:

Bernard J. Walicski, 85, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown.
Bernard was born September 18, 1924 near Woodworth, ND, the son of Andrew and Mary (Paluh) Kania.  He attended country school near Woodworth.  Bernard entered the US Army on January 10, 1945 and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.  He was honorably discharged in November 1946 receiving the Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal and the Sharp Shooter Badge.  He returned to North Dakota and in October 1948, Bernard married Betty Watson.  He farmed all his life in Wells County, North Dakota.  Bernard married Mary Walters Peterson in October 1975.
Bernard was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown.  He enjoyed dancing, playing cards, gardening and traveling.
Bernard is survived by his wife, Mary, Jamestown; three daughters, Shelly (Jeff) Highness, Dilworth, MN, Nancy (Paul) Kram, Langdon, ND and Jayne (Dwight) Petersen, West Fargo, ND; six grandchildren, April, Katie, Matthew, Shawn, Bryan and Amy; three great-grandchildren, Jack, Grace and Loren; two sisters, Ruth Allen, Pingree and Helen Billings, Plymouth, MN; and two brothers, Don Walicski, Jamestown and Ed (Shirley) Walicski, Molt, MT.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ted.
The family prefers memorials to Cardiac Rehab at Jamestown Hospital or St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

Memorial Service: 11:00 AM, Monday, February 22, 2010 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown, with Rev. Gary Ball-Kilbourne officiating.
