Geraldine "Geri" Guthmiller

     Geraldine “Geri” Guthmiller, 90, Jamestown, North Dakota passed away Monday, April 15, 2024 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

     Geraldine was born August 12, 1933 at Lehr, North Dakota, the daughter of Gottlob and Hulda (Radke) Sukut.  She grew up and attended rural school near Lehr and Pingree, North Dakota.  In 1956, Geri moved to Jamestown, North Dakota where she has made her home ever since.

     In August 1966, Geri married Theodore Guthmiller in Jamestown at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.  She worked in retail businesses from 1956 to 1981.  In 1981, she went to work at the ND State Hospital until 1998, when she semi-retired and continued to work for Hugo’s and Stutsman County Soil District for several more years.

     Geri was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.  She was also a member of V.F.W. Auxiliary and enjoyed fishing, bowling, traveling, attending music concerts and volunteer work.

     She is survived by 5 brothers and sisters:  Gladys Ley, Jamestown, ND; Marlys Sukut, Denver, CO; Bonnie (Walter) Smith, Richardson, TX; Earl Sukut, Cascade, MT and Garry Sukut, Oviedo, FL; sister-in-law, Marlene Helling, Reno, NV and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Allen, Leroy and Howard and sisters Frances, Lillian and Sharon.

     Visitation will be Friday, April 26 from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Eddy Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be Saturday, April 27 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Jennifer McDonald officiating.  Interment will be at Highland Home Cemetery.

    Geraldine’s family requests that memorials be sent to the McCoy Ministries.
