<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://eddyfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/110_115665.jpg" alt="Eileen W. Gusaas" />Eileen Gusaas, 88, Jamestown, ND, formerly of Marion, ND, passed away Monday, February 20, 2012 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
Eileen Foy was born August 29, 1923 at Nortonville, ND, to Homer and Clara (Green) Foy.  She graduated from Nortonville High School in 1944.  On October 3, 1948 Eileen married Harry Gusaas.  The couple moved to their farm northwest of Marion in Meadow Lake Township and farmed for 37 years.
In 1976 they built a new home in Marion where they lived for 21 years, before moving to Jamestown in 1997.  Eileen was an active member of the Marion Lutheran Church Ladies Aid for many years.
Upon retiring from farming they enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Texas.  Their last trip was on their 80th birthdays with going on an Alaskan cruise.  Eileen enjoyed bowling, golfing, crocheting, playing cards and doing word puzzles.
Eileen loved her kids dearly and lived for her family.  She always cherished family get togethers.  She was a gem, one of a kind and precious.  She will be greatly missed.
Eileen will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Harry, Jamestown; daughter, Nancy (Jerry) Fuchs, Jamestown; daughters-in-law, Sharlene Gusaas, Bismarck, ND and Joletta Gusaas, Ellendale, ND; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mattie Brandt, Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Dale, Jerry and Jim; one grandson, Jared; parents; and one brother, Edgar.

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://eddyfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/110_114640.jpg" alt="Harriet Wooddell" />Harriet Wooddell, 89, Jamestown, ND, died Monday, February 6, 2012 at her home under hospice care.
Harriet Baenen was born March 31, 1922 in Sydney township, North Dakota, the daughter of Bernard J. and Mathilda (Neidecken) Baenen.  She attended rural school in Sydney township and graduated from St. John&#039;s Academy.  On April 8, 1944 Harriet married Willis Wooddell in Jamestown.  They lived on a farm in Windsor township.  Harriet worked at the ND State Hospital from 1972 to 1990.  They moved into Jamestown in February 1993 and have made their home here since.  
Harriet was a member of St. John&#039;s Lutheran Church, Eldridge Circle and a lifetime member of the Priscilla Altar Guild.  She enjoyed crocheting and socializing with family and friends.
Harriet is survived by her husband, Willis, Jamestown; two sons, Arlo Baenen, Orlando, FL and Royce (Gail) Wooddell, Tucson, AZ; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; three sisters; and one daughter-in-law.

<title>Ida Rott [08/25/1920 - 02/06/2012] </title>

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://eddyfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/110_114663.jpg" alt="Ida Rott" />Ida Rott, 91, went to be with her loving Savior, Monday, February 6, 2012 at Eventide Hi-Acres in Jamestown.  
Ida was born August 25, 1920 in Tuttle, ND to John and Rosenna Wetzel. She grew up in Tuttle and attended and graduated from Tuttle School. She moved to Jamestown and worked at the Jamestown Café where she met Walter Rott.  They got married on September 24, 1944. She spent 25 years working at the North Dakota State Hospital. She retired in December of 1990. She was an active member of the Jamestown Evangelical Church. 
Ida&#039;s passions were gardening, growing flowers, and baking. She was particularly known for her apple pies and chocolate chip cookies,  which were the best according to her family and friends. Much of her time, after retiring, was spent with her grandchildren. She was a godly role model to them and they loved spending time at her house exploring outside and eating her wonderful cooking. 
Ida is survived by her son, John (Sue) Rott, Jamestown; 4 grandchildren, Dr. Chris (Penny) Rott, Grand Rapids, MI, Tim (Amy) Rott Portals, NM, Aundrea Rott, Fargo, ND, and Chandlar Rott; Jamestown; foster-grandchild, D’Montre Bauer;  two sisters, Rosenne Wong, Minneapolis, MN and Leona Schields, Dodge, ND.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walt; infant daughter Rose; parents; three brothers and three sisters.

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://eddyfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/110_114639.jpg" alt="Esther W. Hockert" />Esther W. Hockert, 95, Jamestown, ND, died Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown.
Esther Backer was born October 24, 1916 near Courtenay, ND, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Moeller) Backer.  She grew up around the Courtenay area and attended Corinne School.  On September 26, 1936 Esther married Joseph Hockert at St. John&#039;s Catholic Church in Kensal, ND.  They farmed until 1968 when they moved to Jamestown.  She helped Joe who was custodian at the St. James Catholic Church for 20 years and at St. John&#039;s Academy for 10 years.  They also worked for the Sisters at the Convent and also at the Rectory.  
Esther was a member of the Basilica of St. James, Tabernacle Society and St. Anne&#039;s Circle.  She planted some of the perennials around the church.  She enjoyed family, flowers, gardening and baking, and spending time with her special friend, Glory Ebertz.
Esther is survived by three daughters, Diane Fischer, Jamestown, Lynne Glodrey, Gackle, ND and Debra (Noel) Guthmiller, Fargo, ND; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one daughter-in-law, Margaret Hockert, Fargo.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Darrell; two brothers; four sisters; and two sons-in-law.

<description><![CDATA[<img src="http://eddyfuneralhome.com/components/comObituaries/obituarythumbnails/110_114452.jpg" alt="Katherine Petersen" />Katherine M. Petersen, 85, Jamestown, North Dakota died Thursday, February 2, 2012 at her home.  
Katherine Theisen was born August 19, 1926 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Frank and Helen (Stone) Theisen.  She attended her first twelve years of school in Sioux Falls.  Katherine then attended South Dakota State University in Brookings, graduating with a Social Work degree in 1948.  She married Gilbert F. Petersen on November 23, 1952, in Sioux Falls.  They made their home in Jamestown in 1954.  Katherine was a member of First Congregational U.C.C. in Jamestown.  She worked at Central Dakota Village Nursing Home as a social worker from 1969-1985.  Katherine worked for Alpha Opportunities until her retirement in 1997.  
She was a member of Red Hats Society &amp; PEO.  She did volunteer work for the Humane Society, Meals on Wheels and Jamestown Hospital.  Katherine was quite a social bug, always sharing a joke or two.  She enjoyed playing bridge, dominos and other games.  Katherine had a strong love for her cats.  
She is survived by one son, Phred (L.E.) Petersen, Australia; one daughter, Connie (Kent) Lettenmaier, Sanborn, ND; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gilbert and son, Donald.
